[Update 01/06]: If you have the Galaxy S9 and Note 9, you’ll be pleased to hear that you can now use DeX for PC on your former flagship (via SamMobile). There was no explicit confirmation from Samsung that these devices would receive support for the mobile desktop hybrid but it appears that now you can plug your S9 and Note 9 right into your PC and run the not-quite-a-desktop replacement.
You don’t even need the Android 10 update to use DeX for Windows on your device either. Just install on your PC, plug in your device and fire the newly installed app up.

The only caveat is that this still requires a USB-C cable connection to your PC, but really does give you much more flexibility of using DeX as a piece of software running on your machine rather than a standalone OS.
While a wired connection is still needed, it gives us hope that Samsung might eventually be able to rid of us of the wire entirely and connect wirelessly. You can already manage text messages, calls, and notifications on your PC with the Link to Windows feature that is new on the Note 10. This doesn’t replicate the proper DeX desktop, though.
At the moment, it appears that DeX for Windows and Mac only works on the recently revealed Note 10. There is no support for the Galaxy S10 and S10+ at the moment, it seems. Given just how similar the internals are on the Note 10 and S10, hopefully, Samsung can add support soon.
For those of you that want to be able to use DeX while running PC or Mac apps at the same time, this is quite a nice little addition to the system. I can’t say I would do so personally, but it could be really helpful if you want to work on files on your Note 10 on a big screen but lack the USB-C to HDMI hardware.

The Samsung Dex program for Windows and Mac PCs is finally available for download. It’s a pity that at the moment it only works with Galaxy Note 10 and 10 Plus, although it will soon be compatible with other devices from the Korean company.
But what is Samsung Dex? What can you do with Samsung Dex? We discover in this article all that Samsung Dex offers and what its infinite features are.
Samsung Dex what is it?
Samsung Dex is a spectacular program that allows you to use all the smartphone’s functions directly via Windows and Mac PCs.
Simply connect the phone to the computer with a special cable to play the phone display on the PC/Mac screen. In this way we can use our Android smartphone with mouse and keyboard, directly from the computer, as if it were a normal program, but with the difference that we are actually using our smartphone.
The purpose is very simple: to use the files and applications stored on the smartphone on a larger display, simply and quickly.
It is very useful in the office, at work and in all those areas where using the phone with your hands can be inconvenient or problematic, while we have no problem using a PC or a computer.
In my case, for example, I can’t use my personal phone at work. With Samsung Dex instead I will simply connect the phone to the computer to be able to use it without problems and without limitations, directly with mouse and keyboard and therefore in an even more comfortable way.

Do you want to connect Samsung Galaxy to Windows 10 as Galaxy Note 10? Here’s how!
The minimum requirement is to have an updated Galaxy with Android Pie with One UI.
If you meet this requirement, you can take advantage of the feature that lets you connect your Samsung Galaxy to your Windows PC and use some of the features on your computer screen.
The function, called “Link to Windows“, can also be activated on smartphones prior to Galaxy Note 10.
How to do?
Just follow these simple instructions:
- install the APK file that you find HERE
- Install the Your Phone app from the Play Store
- once done just add the related toggle from the quick settings menu on Samsung
Done! I confirm that the method works on Samsung Galaxy updated to Android Pie with One UI, certainly on the Galaxy S10 and Galaxy Note 9.
Don’t try to install it on smartphones other than Samsung because you risk doing damage.
In addition to this, there is also the possibility of testing the potential offered by Parsec on the latest Samsung Galaxy, a tool for streaming video games from the smartphone to the PC.
In the Galaxy smartphones, the Parsec app works in symbiosis with PlayGalaxy Link and differs from its main competitors due to the fact that it does not need the two devices among which streaming is connected to the same internet network: it is possible to mirror even when the smartphone is connected to a mobile network.
